Autel Dragonfish-25 Canada

Autel Dragonfish-25

A distinct larger platform for extended missions and higher payload requirements. Published endurance up to 210 minutes with the stated payload conditions. Canadian configuration and supply by quotation.

The accepted quotation defines the exact aircraft version and payload. The imagery below explains the family; Standard footage does not represent Dragonfish-25.

Lift from a clearing.
Cruise on the wing.

Dragonfish’s tilt-rotor VTOL design combines vertical departure and recovery with efficient fixed-wing cruise. It makes sense when your team needs to follow a corridor, maintain a broad search pattern or stay with a developing scene.

Plan the entire flight: transition space, turns, terrain, reserve, recovery area and lost-link response. Maximum endurance does not describe hover time or guarantee coverage.

20× optical

Start with the detail
you need to resolve.

The supplied DG-L20T payload list combines 20× optical zoom, a wide-angle camera, native 640 × 512 thermal and laser ranging. Higher hybrid zoom values include digital magnification.

DG-T5 adds two thermal focal lengths and 35× optical zoom. DG-T5L combines 35× optical zoom, thermal and laser fill light. Compatibility, firmware and regional configuration must be checked for the selected aircraft.

Payloads are selected and priced separately in your quotation. The Alpha L35T and Dragonfish gimbals must not be treated as interchangeable merely because their names are similar.

Manufacturer Dragonfish thermal demonstration. Not a claim that every aircraft or payload produces the same output; the original scene framing is preserved.

The ground system
is part of the aircraft decision.

Controller, communications equipment, power and transport all belong in the comparison. Ask SkyFlow to scope the complete field workflow, including compatible base station or tracking antenna, batteries, charging and crew training.

The supplied workflow film demonstrates mission planning and operator control. Automation assists the crew; it does not remove the need for supervision, site assessment or operating permissions.

210min¹

Dragonfish-25.
A different scale of operation.

The supplied Dragonfish-25 sheet lists up to 210 minutes with payload and 10 kg maximum extra payload. Its manual describes a 29 kg aircraft excluding the gimbal. This is a larger operational commitment than Standard or Pro.

¹ The manual’s up-to-240-minute figure uses a different stated condition. Do not use it as a loaded mission promise. Aircraft mass, configuration and mission must be assessed against applicable Canadian operating requirements.

Then compare the aircraft.

Dragonfish is not a direct one-for-one DJI Matrice replacement. The right choice depends on how the camera moves through the job.

Mission fit across VTOL, multirotor and dock platforms
What the job demands	Start with	Why it fits
Long corridors and sustained broad-area observation	Dragonfish Standard / Pro / 25	Fixed-wing cruise, with vertical departure and recovery. Allow for transition, turns and field logistics.
Stationary standoff viewing and close industrial inspection	Autel Alpha or DJI Matrice 400 with suitable payload	Multirotor hover and camera positioning. Compare the required sensor and inspection workflow.
Portable rapid-response thermal work	Autel EVO Max or DJI Matrice 4T	A smaller field footprint for teams moving between sites.
Recurring remote dispatch from an installed site	DJI Dock 4 + Matrice 5TD	Dock infrastructure and battery workflow address repeat dispatch. It is a different operating model.

This is a mission-fit guide, not a head-to-head flight test. Compare camera performance, data handling, service, regulatory suitability and total field cost. No platform’s headline range establishes flight permission.

Which Dragonfish should I choose?

Start with mission duration, payload and field logistics. The supplied series one-sheet lists Standard at up to 106 minutes and Pro at up to 179 minutes with DG-L20T. Dragonfish-25 is a separate larger platform with a supplied one-sheet figure of up to 210 minutes with payload. These are manufacturer figures, not usable on-station time.

Why do other pages show 120, 126, 158, 180 or 240 minutes?

Dragonfish documentation spans different aircraft versions, payloads and test conditions. We identify the source configuration instead of combining the largest numbers. The Dragonfish-25 manual describes up to 240 minutes, while the supplied one-sheet lists 210 minutes with payload. Confirm the delivered configuration and reserve policy.

What is included in the quotation?

The accepted quotation defines the aircraft version, camera, controller, ground communications equipment, battery quantities, chargers, cases, software and services. No pictured accessory or camera is included by implication. Ask for an itemized packing list before ordering.

Does long transmission range allow BVLOS flight in Canada?

No. Radio specifications and automation do not authorize a flight. Check Transport Canada requirements for the intended aircraft, location, operating category, pilot qualifications and permissions. We do not claim a Canadian aircraft declaration or BVLOS approval for these configurations.

Is Dragonfish an alternative to a DJI Matrice or Dock?

It addresses a different mission class. Fixed-wing cruise suits sustained coverage; a multirotor suits prolonged stationary viewing and close inspection. A dock system addresses recurring remote dispatch from an installed site. Compare complete mission workflows, payloads and operating constraints, not endurance alone.

What about Dragonfish Lite?

Lite appears in the supplied earlier family images and documentation. The newer supplied series one-sheet specifies Standard and Pro. Ask SkyFlow to verify Lite availability, support and configuration for an existing fleet rather than treating its older specifications as a current new-system offer.
